DIY Bow bobby pin

DIY Bow bobby pin

Here is an other Quick Tip. Sometimes we do not have many time so we have to be creative fast. This bow bobby pin is easy to make and very versatile because you can use different ribbons.

We only need bobby pins, ribbon and scissos. Cut a piece of ribbon. Stitch it through the bobby pin, and tie a bow at the curve. Done!

DIY Natural bodyscrub

DIY Natural bodyscrub

This home-made bodyscrub is very easy to make, because we need only 2 ingredients: olive oil and brown sugar. It is completely natural and doesn't contain any harsh chemicals (e.g. preservative, fragrance). I love it for not drying my skin out , thanks to the oil. So it exfoliates and hydrates at the same time. :)

So we need only olive oil and brown sugar. Just mix them in a bowl and you are done. :) For my scrub I used 4 table spoon brown sugar and 6 tablespoon olive oil. But the proportion is totally up to you. If you want it to be more gently, add more oil.

I would not reccomend using it on face if you are tend to have break outs (because of the oil).

Of course this is just the basic "recipe". We can add a little cinnamon or lemon juice to it for a nice smell, or a little volatile oil (e.g. lavender).

DIY Memory Jar

DIY Memory Jar

I was really touched by this project. Not for the implementing but for the idea and the meaning of it. We usually forget about the good things that happen to us and we are concentrating on bad things. If we were more positive we would realize that we have many reasons to be gratitude.

The whole thing is very simple. You can use any kind of jar, box (or even a notebook), and you can decorate it as you like. You can find many ideas on Pinterest or Google. I chose a minimal design, and the making process is quite self-explanatory: I wrote on a jar the word "blessings" with permanent maker, then I tied a ribbon bow around it.
The point:
Write good things that happen to you on little pieces of paper. For example nice memories, accomplished goals, daily small surprises.

Keep it in a central location so you don't forget about it!
You will see how the jar gets filled day by day. This way you can document all the blessings that you experience.

Flower braid

Flower braid

I love braids, they are so versatile. Today I did this flower braid half-updo, which is easy and quick.

Here is how:

- Part your hair in the middle. I have bangs and I left them out.
- Take a section of hair from the front.
- Braid it,
- and secure with an elastic.
- Then take a section of hair from the other side.
- Braid it,
- and secure with an elastic.
- Bring the two braids together at the back, and secure them together with an elastic.
- Unbraid the leftover hair under the eastic,
- then braid this section to one braid.
- Secure the end with an elastic.
- Slightly pull out the strands for a looser effect.
- Now wrap  this braid around its base,
- and pin this flower shape in place with bobbi-pins.

Half bun

Half bun

This is my go-to hairstyle lately. It is not always comfotable to wear my hair down, I do not really like like ponytails and usually there is no time for intricate braids, so this is a quick solution.

Let's see how to:
think it looks best on wavy, messy hair (1). Grab the upper part of your hair (2), than tie it with an elastic (3). But don't pull the ponytail through completely at the last loop, only half way(4). Finally adjust the bun (5) and your bohemian hairdo is done (6). It looks great with eighter higher or lower bun.

DIY bow hair scrunchie

DIY bow hair scrunchie

Here is another bow related do-it-yourself project: a fun hair tie for Spring.
I used fabric glue, but if you want you can sew instead.

What you need:

- 3 piece of fabric ( 30x10 cm, 19x8 cm and 3x8 cm - but it depends on how big you want your hair scrunchie be, mine was a medium one)
- a piece of elastic (mine was 10 cm)
- fabric glue (or a sewing machine)
- scissors
- falt iron

How to:

 - Take the biggest piece of fabric. With the right side facing out glue the longer side of the fabric. Then fold it half to stick the two sides together. After the glue gets dry turn the fabric inside out and flat it down with ironing. Then get the elastic through the tube in the fabric and tie the ends together. Glue one end of the fabric and tuck it into the other end of the tube.

- Now take the medium sized fabric. We will make the bow. With the right side of the fabric facing out glue both of the longer sides half way. Then fold the fabric in half to stick the sides together. Wait until the glue gets dry. You have an opened side on the fabric. Fold the ends in and glue the two sides together.

- Take the little piece of fabric and glue one of the longer sides. Then fold it in half to stick the two sides together.
- Shape a bow with the medium fabric by pressing the two longer side together. Take the little fabric and place it in the middle. Then wrap it around and glue it. Cut off the leftover fabric.

- Glue the hair scrunchie where the ends meet and stick the bow on it.

And voilá you have your own handmade bow hair scrunchie.

Jewelery Holder

Jewelery Holder

I show you a super easy jewelery holder idea which doesn't requires any crafting skills or financial invest.

We only need a jar (e.g. mason jar) and a few branches. Place the sticks in the jar. I like it even this way in its simplicity and minimal design.

After that we hang our jewelry on the branches. I chose gold theme with pearls for now.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Brownie Bombs

Chocolate Covered Cherry Brownie Bombs

Totally creative?
Yes!
Ingredients
  • 1 box of brownie mix and the fixin's it takes to make them
  • 1 can of chocolate frosting
  • 3 to 4 cups of milk chocolate chocolate chips
  • 1 can of cherry pie filling
Instructions
Bake the brownies as directed and let cool completely. Do not overcook the brownies, crunchy brownie bits don't make for good bombs.
Crumble the made brownies and mix in about 3/4 a cup of chocolate frosting. If you've made cake pops before, you want a similar consistency.

You may need to add a little more, but you want to start out on the low side and add more if you need it.

Once you have it the consistency needed (stays together easily but isn't too sticky to roll into balls), start with about 1 TBSP of brownie frosting mixture.

Form it into a ball, but then make a hole in the middle that you can drop one cherry from the pie filling into.
Top with a little more of the brownie/frosting mixture and do your best to seal the cherry in.

Once you have all your bombs made, pop them in the freezer for about 20 minutes.

While they are hardening up in the freezer, melt your chocolate. You may need a little more or a little less depending on how heavily you coat the bombs.

After the 20 minutes, take them out of the freezer and keep them in the refrigerator.

Working one bomb at a time, drop it into the melted chocolate, pull it back out, and tap off the excess chocolate.

Place it on wax paper and wait for it to dry completely.

EASY TASSEL FLOWERS

EASY TASSEL FLOWERS

HOW TO MAKE EASY TASSEL FLOWERS

MATERIALS:

  • yellow yarn
  • green yarn
  • green pipe cleaners
  • fabric glue or hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • serving fork, 1-1.5 inches wide

DIRECTIONS:

Tassels are easy to make with a fork. It may take you a tassel or two to get the hang of this technique. Don’t get discouraged, you’ll soon be a pom pom making pro!
  1. Gather materials.
  2. Place a pipe cleaner along one side of your fork.
  3. Wrap the fork and pipe cleaner with yellow yarn. Be careful to keep the wrapped area of yarn about 1 inch wide.
  4. Wrap the yarn 25-30 times around the fork.
  5. Twist the pipe cleaner together around the end of the yarn. Wrap it 3 times down the stem and then back up toward the flower ( you are forming the base of the stem).
  6. Cut a 4-inch piece of green yarn and tie it around the base of the flower (between the last tine of the fork). Remove the tassel from the fork.
  7. Not the green yarn tightly two (2) times.
  8. Trim the ends of the green yarn close to the knot.
  9. Cut a 8-inch piece of green yarn. Add a dot of glue near the green knot and attach the green yarn. Wrap the flower from the green knot down to the stem, wrapping the yarn close together so no yellow yarn shows.
  10. Wrap the green yarn until it is about 1/4 inch from the end, add a dot of glue to the flower base and secure the end of the yarn.
  11. Cut the loops of the yellow yarn with scissors.
  12. Use a fork or metal tool to fray the yarn slightly.
  13. Fluff the top of your flower and trim any stray threads.
  14. Enjoy your dandelion!
